Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet ornamented with three olive leaves above visor and spiral palmette on bowl, round earring with central boss, and pearl necklace, Owl standing to right with head facing; olive sprig and crescent behind, ΑΘΕ before; all within incuse square., A superb copy of the famous Athenian tetradrachms, here with Athena in classical style, struck during the period of the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta. The flan is relatively wide, part of the helmet crest is visible and the reverse is also almost complete. Previously cleaned example.

Tête d'Athéna à droite, portant un casque attique à crête orné de trois feuilles d'olivier au-dessus de la visière et d'une palmette en spirale sur le bol, une boucle d'oreille ronde avec bossage central et un collier de perles., Chouette debout à droite, la tête de face; rameau d'olivier et croissant derrière, ΑΘΕ devant ; le tout à l'intérieur d'un carré incus., Un superbe exemplaire des célèbres tétradrachmes athéniens, ici avec une Athéna dans un style classique, frappé durant la période de la guerre du Péloponnèse qui opposa Athènes à Sparte. Le flan est relativement large, une partie de la crête du casque est visible et le revers est lui aussi quasiment complet. Exemplaire anciennement nettoyé.
